Charlie Moran, Partner

Charlie has more than 31 years of experience in the information systems industry in both consulting and business management positions. With extensive experience with a wide range of clients, he is sought out by client executives as a thought leader in technology strategy and planning and the development of pragmatic solutions to client challenges.

He has worked with clients in a wide range of industries, including Higher Education, Public Sector, K-12, manufacturing, utilities, insurance and telecommunications. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, change management, processing re-design, information technology planning, project management, data center management, ERP systems and custom applications development. He has led engagements at a variety of U.S. and international clients in working through the issues associated with improving the alignment of strategic goals and outcomes with transformed business processes, information technology investments and organizations.

His recent engagements have focused on developing multi-organizational collaborative initiatives, establishing strong governance structures to ensure successful buy-in to change and utilizing "Best Practices" for driving change within organizations.

Prior to starting Moran Technology Consulting, he served as the VP of Management Consulting at Blackwell Consulting Services and Education Industry Practice Leader. Before Blackwell, Mr. Moran spent 20 years at IBM in a variety of business positions, including creating the Higher Education Industry Management Consulting practice.

Mr. Moran has an Electrical Engineering degree with a minor in Theater from Notre Dame, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.

Chris Shaner, Partner

For over 23 years, Chris has helped clients translate their business and technology needs into defined projects and implement them. He has extensive experience in program management, effective IT governance, and has also served clients requiring temporary senior management.

Recent client engagements include managing an ERP replacement project, managing a business process redesign project, designing and implementing enterprise IT governance, outsourcing analysis and RFP development, and serving as a temporary CIO for a Midwestern college.

Prior to Moran Technology Consulting, Chris was a Director at Blackwell Consulting Services in Chicago. He served in various management roles, including leading the Collaborative Computing and Messaging practice and directing marketing for the firm. He helped build the Company's web application development business and has managed several web application development projects using a variety of technologies.

Prior to joining Blackwell Consulting, Chris spent 13 years with IBM in various management positions supporting large manufacturing customers with industry-specific solutions ranging from ERP systems to engineering design software.

Chris has an engineering degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Paul Giebel, Partner

For more than 23 years, Paul has been helping clients achieve their technology goals. He has extensive experience in program and project management, large scale systems implementation, and business process reengineering.

His most recent client engagements include a large scale business process definition for a public sector client, data center outsourcing analysis for a higher education client, and managing change associated with a major system implementation for a utilities client.

Prior to Moran Technology Consulting, Paul was a Director at Blackwell Consulting Services in Chicago where he led major engagements in the management consulting practice. His engagements have focused on leading business process, change management, and analysis projects for public sector, higher education and commercial clients.

Before Blackwell Consulting, Paul spent 14 years with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He had major roles in helping to grow the Business Process Management (Outsourcing) practice. Most of his efforts were focused on performing due diligence on potential outsourcing clients as well as leading large engagements. Paul also spent time with marchFirst, leading business development and major project efforts.

Paul has a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Studies from Northwestern University.

Scott Weyandt, Practice Director & Security and Infrastructure Planning

Scott has been assisting organizations with their information technology objectives for over 18 years. He has extensive experience planning, designing and implementing secure network and infrastructure solutions for large, complex enterprises.

On his most recent client engagements, Scott has provided project management and subject matter expertise on diverse projects, including: IT security and organizational assessments, business case development and platform selection for enterprise email and directory consolidations, and large scale WAN, LAN, WLAN strategy, design and implementation.

Prior to joining Moran Technology Consulting, Scott served in a dual role as the Director of both the Network and Infrastructure and the Government and Education practices for Blackwell Consulting Services in Chicago. While at Blackwell he led major engagements assisting public sector, education, and commercial clients with strategic technology planning, resource management and organizational planning, program and project management, system selection and integration, network design and implementation, and the development of security, privacy, and compliance policies and best practices.

Before Blackwell Consulting, Scott served as a senior security and network consultant for XOR providing network and security assessments, designs, and implementation services to eCommerce and traditional brick and mortar clients.

Scott has a Bachelors degree from Wheaton College and a Masters and Doctorate degree from Loyola University Chicago.
