MTC helped Oakton complete a comprehensive IT assessment and IT strategic plan.
Oakton Community College is a two-year community college in Des Plaines, Illinois, enrolling approximately 46,000 students. Oakton engaged MTC to support an IT Assessment and the development of an IT Strategic Plan.
Oakton wanted support evaluating the current technology environment along with the College business processes and preparing an IT Strategic Plan that aligns IT’s efforts and resources with a) College’s mission, vision and values; b) Best practices; and c) Industry standards. The key goal of the Assessment and the IT Strategic Plan is to assist the College in making effective use of technology to improve a) student learning outcomes, b) existing business processes to better cater to stakeholder needs and c) the overall end-user experience.
MTC began with a comprehensive IT Assessment, which included Oakton’s technology infrastructure and systems maintained by IT, cyber-security, and usage of technology to support business processes, instructional delivery, and software applications portfolio. MTC then worked with Oakton to identify and prioritize potential IT improvement strategies and initiatives based on the Assessment findings. MTC is currently partnering with Oakton to finalize a new IT Strategic Plan based on the goals outlined above.
